Various governments in the world are responsible for creating offices to manage a specific sector of public administration.

Whether it’s a state government, a federal government or even the local government, these countries have completely weird positions.

1. Spain

In 2017, Spain appointed a Minister of Sex whose job was to get people busy between the sheets. The government hopes to boost Spain’s falling birth rate, which is one of the lowest in the developed world. Currently, the position is held by Edelmira Barreira who has the job of boosting the country’s birth. (We would honestly want to know how she does this)

2. The United Arab Emirates

In Dubai, there is a Minister of State for Happiness. This office is responsible for the overseeing of plans, programs and policies to achieve a happier society in the United Arab Emirates. This position was announced by the UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 2016 and is currently supervised by Mohamed Saeed Ghaith Al Mazrouei.

3. Zimbabwe

Former president of Zimbabwe, President Robert Mugabe moved Patrick Chinamasa from the finance ministry in October 2017 to lead a new cybersecurity ministry that will focus on crimes on social media and other websites. This ministry is responsible for Cyber Security, Threat Detection and Mitigation.

4. India

In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, established a new government ministry to promote traditional Indian medicine and yoga. Shirpad Naik, the culture and tourism minister, was appointed the minister of Ayurveda, yoga and naturopathy, nnani, Siddha and homoeopathy.

5. Nigeria

In Imo state, the governor, Rochas Okorocha appointed his sister as the commissioner for Happiness and Couples’ Fulfilment.
