“Xavi Hernandez, a product of Barca’s youth team, has left his current Qatari club Al Sadd after speaking with the owners over the past few days.
The 41-year-old, who was promoted to Barcelona’s La Masia academy, will be revealed at a press conference on Monday.
Xavi, a two-time world champion and European champion with Spain, is one of the most awarded players in Barcelona’s history.
He has won 25 major trophies at the Camp Nou, including eight La Liga titles and four Champions League titles. Xavi made 767 games for Barcelona, a club record until finally beaten by Lionel Messi.
Xavi is excited to return to where it all started for him and is aware of the huge task that lies ahead as the current Barcelona team is a shadow of who they were before.
